Remember promoting your website here actually means promoting your products, the more the visitor's you have the more the chances of selling you’re products.There are many ways to dig up the traffic for your website, you just have to do it properly with some determination, patience & it’s just a piece of cake!!Targeting a traffic that later on converts into sales depends upon:-
· How good was your keywords research(Search Engine Optimization) & how well you use it in making of you're site/store.
· How well you promote your site i.e Banner ads,Google adwords etc(see below).
· Promoting it on relating blogs & forums (Blogging and forum posting).
· Submission of you’re website on different web and articles directories.

Write an article about your product or website and the submit on to different "Article Directories" e.g goarticles,freearticlesubmission.org (for more see the "useful links" in the end of this article) or post it onto different blogs or forums (relevant to your product), just make sure your article doesn't look like spam,show yourself as an expert(in your product) and you genuienly wants to help.
2)Setup on other blogs and forums
As described above do participate in blogs and forums discussions but don't make it look like a spam.Include links to your website/store on your post.
3)Paid Per click Sites
Submit your site on Paid Per Click sites like a Clicksence or Neobux.But this method isn't that effective as it don't drives the targeted traffic & by many considered as a wastage of money.
4)Search Engines

5)Ebooks
